THE HOT LIST: Best Of Denver Instagram

All credit goes to @leftoversfromfriday on this one. If you don’t know her, she is a social media maven and a fountain of cool ideas. It’s like she read my mind that I have all these saved instagram pictures from my feed showing the best of the best of Denver, with no idea how to harness them into a post.

CAN’T WAIT TO SEE: @cuttyup’s got me so excited for the opening of Stanley Marketplace. I am a huge, huge Jamie Molina, aka @cuttyup fan, as well as Pedro Barrios, aka @pbarriosart, whom he collaborated with on this piece, and think it says a lot about Stanley Marketplace that they are working with two of the most fantastic muralists in Denver. Can’t wait to peep this in person when Comida opens!

THE HIGH LONESOME – This beauty just arrived in LoHi and I’m in love with my new neighborhood bar. I can’t get over this incredible design and they have Our Mutual Friend on tap, so they obviously have good taste. And if the rumors are true, they have a jukebox that will change your life. DENVER’S BEST PIZZA: Late to the party on this one, I only went to Pizzeria Locale for the first time yesterday! Lachlan Patterson, who is also the chef and co-owner of Frasca Food  & Wine, named Denver’s #2 restaurant by 5280 magazine,, was there and spoke, not only so passionately about creating great pizza, but also, about making it with the freshest and most simple ingredients (the dough is only made with 4 ingredients). This immediately won me over. Didn’t hurt that the sauce reminded me of my great grandmother’s or that a margherita pie only set me back $5.50. (Yes! $5.50)

GET IT: The Prosciutto & Arugula was my favorite and if you love sweet treats, get The Nutella Pizza and the Budino, a butterscotch pudding with chocolate and caramel topping. The Budino is a mini-dessert (which I love!) and it’s only $1.50!

MAGIC HOUR: If this picture from @ngallag12001 doesn’t get you over to the Botantic Gardens, I don’t know what will. Their  annual holiday lights extravaganza will truly get you believing it’s the most magical time of the year. Get ticket info, here.

GIMME DAT DIABETES: @leftoversfromfriday says no holiday would be complete without The Chevy Chase: an eggnog cream filled donut, topped with a nutmeg glaze, gingerbread crumble, whip cream, candied cranberries “and freakin’ Christmas spirit, man.” Strap me to a treadmill, post haste. But not before we grab one of these babes at Habit Doughnuts.

HOLIDAY PUNCH RECIPE: Those kids at Punch Bowl Social have got the boozy punch game nailed! And while I most enjoy my punch at their restaurant, with my Knockoff Burger,(someone PLEASE tell me what’s in that Comeback sauce, PLEASE), when I spied this pic on insta, I asked for the recipe, so we can enjoy gallons of this spiked goodie at our own holiday parties.

Jingle around the Clock

8 servings • from Patrick Williams, Beverage Director, Punch Bowl Social

9 ounces Old Forester Bourbon
6 ounces McClary Bros Michigan Cranberry Shrub
3 ounces vanilla syrup
12 ounces Teakoe Tea’s Earl Grey Odyssey

Build punch in shaker tins and shake vigorously. Strain into a large punch bowl and pour over ice.

Garnish with lemon wheels and currants.


That Knockoff Burger from Punch Bowl Social…. because, damn.
